About SmartBee

SmartBee LLC is an independent, one-person software studio based in the United States. We design, build, and operate our own products — apps and tools that solve real problems without the noise.

The name comes from how bees work: small, tireless, and remarkably effective together. A single bee is unremarkable; a hive builds something extraordinary through focus and iteration. That is how we approach software — one small, well-made piece at a time.

Rooted in Hongik Ingan (홍익인간)

Our philosophy comes from Korea's ancient founding ideal — Hongik Ingan, “to broadly benefit all humanity” (here's a short introduction to the idea).

It's also how bees work. A bee simply gathers nectar, yet in doing so it pollinates the world around it — entire ecosystems flourish as a side effect of one small creature doing its job well.

That's the software we want to build. Tools that solve one problem well, but leave everything around them a little better: users' time respected, no dark patterns, value that spreads beyond the product itself.
